Everybody feels a little empty inside now and then. In the atomized, highly individualized society we all grind in, it's easy to get into a headspace that feels nothing short of hopeless. Luckily, all is not lost — as well we know, we have the guilt free delight of memes to help pull us out of this funk.

Yes, let's not ponder what the hell we'd do with ourselves if we didn't have these stupid little images and videos blaring out of our various screens. We might end up having to do some soul searching, and nothing good can ever come of that. So, let's be thankful for the memes. Everyone needs something to fill the big wide gap of despair inside themselves, and the cultured among us have chosen this as a coping mechanism. Sure, sometimes it just amplifies our problems back to us, but the kick we get out of it is incomparable.
